Who is Artemis Pet Care?

I'm Allison, and I work at a veterinary clinic with many years of experience in animal care. Over time, numerous clients began asking me to pet-sit, and I quickly discovered how much I enjoy providing personalized care for pets in the comfort of their own homes. This environment allows pets to feel relaxed and truly show their unique personalities. I initially started pet-sitting through Rover, but now I book directly with pet owners to offer more affordable and transparent pricing without any extra fees. My top priority is to ensure your pets are safe, comfortable, and happy while I’m with them. I’m also fully capable of administering medications, including injections, should your pet require them. To build trust and understanding, I always schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand, so you, your pets, and I can get to know each other and discuss any specific care instructions or special needs your pet may have.

  • I have always had an appreciation for Greek Mythology and other similar topics. My own cats are named after Greek Myth figures, Hermes, Perseus, and Odysseus. Artemis is the Greek Goddess of the hunt, wilderness, and wild animals and has always been one of my favorites in the Greek pantheon. In short, it sounded cool, and embraces one of the many topics of my interest!

  • Daytime Availability
I work full-time at a veterinary clinic Monday–Thursday, with occasional Saturday shifts. Pet sitting is my secondary role, and availability is based on my clinic schedule.

I can provide care for pets that are comfortable being alone for approximately 5–6 hours at a time. On workdays, I am available for:

    • Morning care (breakfast/potty) before 7:30 a.m.

    • Midday check-ins during my one-hour lunch break.

    • Evening care after 6:30 p.m., including dinner, potty breaks, and playtime.

From Friday–Sunday, I am generally more flexible and able to accommodate pets with higher-needs schedules or more frequent outings. On the occasions I work a Saturday shift, my hours are 7:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

    Nighttime Hours Availability

I can either stay overnight in your home or return to my own home and return early in the morning—whichever best suits your preferences and your pets’ needs.

    Location Availability

I am currently available to service homes within the red-bordered area on the map. This is due to my limited lunch break availability, as I need enough time to leave my clinic, visit your home to check on your pets, and return to the clinic within my one-hour lunch period.

  • I require at least one meet and greet before booking a pet sit. This is to ensure that I am the right fit for your pet's needs. I will always book a meet and greet as soon as possible to ensure that if we are not the best fit, you will have time to find a more appropriate care taker.

To ensure I can provide the best experience for your pet, I will have a list of questions to go over at our first Meet and Greet including: What time do they eat? How many meals per day? How much and of what types of food? Do they take any medications or supplements and when? What does a typical day look like for your pet? Do they have any routines that I should adhere to? And more.

  • For pet sitting in the home, I want to go with the flow of the pet. I'll want to know what their usual routine looks like and I will do my best to closely match that as much as I am able. If your pet has high energy needs and likes to play outside in the yard, I will make sure they have lots of playtime. If your pet is more interested in relaxing with a lap to cuddle on, I am there!

Their day with the sitter should be as low-stress as possible, and the best way to do that is to stick to their known routines as much as possible. (And treats where appropriate!)
